Black Jacks/ Elite Club Teams Fall 2008

The 21 Lacrosse Black Jacks teams are All-Star teams made up of a select group of boy and girl players in Eastern Massachusetts. An 'invitation only' selection process and tryout will be scheduled once a year. The "best" players will be selected from this pool of players to assemble our three Black Jacks teams. They consist of two High School Boys teams -the Black Jacks- Team Black; theBlack Jacks - Team Red, and a HS girls team -Lady Black Jacks.

When we say the "best" players will be chosen, we are referring to the best "team players". As is the theme that runs throughout 21 Lacrosse, we are looking for the well-rounded player. We are looking for team players... serious students, both in the classroom and on the field... young men that respect the game, the coaches, the opposition, but most importantly their teammates.

We will not tolerate players that play out of control. Whether it is their actual play or how they address the officials or coaches, we will only coach young men that are of the highest character. If you are an exceptional player and do represent what we are all about we would encourage you to join us.

We have, and will continue to maintain our "boutique" approach to our teams. We will not roster more than 22 - 24 players per team per year. This affords everyone ample opportunity to play in every team tournament we attend. In our eyes, bigger does not mean better. We pride our teams successes and spirit on the ability to play with the same team members over a season and year after year.

We are serious lacrosse coaches looking for serious lacrosse players. If you fit that description, please give the Black Jacks a look... you’ll like what you see. Not only will you learn a great deal from your coaches and teammates, but you will also have a great time doing it!

Fall 2008 Black Jacks - Elite Club Teams (Overview)

For more information about either Black Jack Team contact Rick Bagby at rbagby@21lacrosse.com

2009 will be the 6th year of the Black Jacks All Star Team Club programs at 21 Lacrosse. We have taken our original boys Black Jacks HS team and divided it up into two teams , both playing Varsity lacrosse, with the Black Team playing at a higher level.

Team Black and Team Redwill be led by Rick Bagby (Marshfield HS Head Coach.) Team Black iis primarily made up of high school Junior players or higher. Team Red is primarily made up of Freshman and Sophomore HS players.

We also are fielding a high school girl’s team and it is the 5th season of the LBJ’s – it’s 1st at the HS level;

Lady Black Jacks The LBJ’s will be going into their 5th season as of 2009. They are primarily made up of sophomore, Junior and Senior players, but as we lose our seniors to college, we recruit new players from the freshman class on up. The team's Head Coach is Meghan Sweeney (5th year coaching Hingham's Freshman Team)and has been with the LBJ's for 3 years, 2 of which she has been the head coach.

The LBJ team always plays Varsity Level lacrosse at tournaments because we want the team to be continually challenged. Our players are chosen because they have the experience and talent to warrant playing at the higher levels. Unlike some programs that keep players playing at their individual grade level, we have a mixed team (age wise) and always 'play up' in tournaments. This gives the younger players and the team as a whole, a wider range of experience throughout the year.
