Tryouts for 2011 teams - Black Jacks BLACK, Black Jacks RED and Jr. Black Jacks will be held on Sunday, September 12th and Sunday, September 19th at Scituate HS's backfield (next to the baseball field).

Times are as follows:

Jr. Black Jacks  9:00 - 10:30a

Black Jacks (Red/Black) 10:30 - 12:00

You are encouraged to attend both tryouts.  It is required to be pre-registered. The tryout fee is $50. If  you make the team it is deducted from your annual fee. For more information on 2011 tryouts go to TOURNAMENT TAB above.

Hardships don’t keep brothers off the field

One coaches and the other defends for Marshfield

Josh White doesn’t remember exactly when his mother left the family; he guesses that he was in the fifth or sixth grade.

His mother, Deirdre, was an alcoholic, and when she was at the house, the situation was tough. He recalls life being better once she was gone. White remembers his father, William, as a rock.

“He had a sole survivor kind of thing,’’ he said.

In the months and years that followed their mother’s departure, Josh, and his older brother, John White, turned to sports as an outlet. John was a three-sport athlete of note at Scituate High, playing football, hockey, and lacrosse. Josh, meanwhile, was laying the foundation to becoming a football and lacrosse athlete at Marshfield High.

Black Jacks Club Teams, Lady Black Jacks and our new Jr. Black Jacks (boys 7th & 8th) Club Teams Tryouts (for 2010) are normally held in the Fall each year.  Currently, there are limited numbers of spaces open on some teams (Black Jacks, LBJ's and Jr. Black Jacks).  If you are interested, please register your child and contact either Andrea or Rick for further information.  To register, click on  BLACK JACKS tab above.  Thank you.
